iPhone 15 specifications
The iPhone 15 series was unveiled last week with significant upgrades to both the design and the specifications. This year Apple replaced the lightning port seen in its iPhone models since the iPhone 15 with a USB Type-C port. In addition, it is said that the Cupertino-based corporation is utilizing fresh battery settings for the most recent lineup. Users of the iPhone 15, will be able to restrict the battery charge percentage to extend battery life with the use of this function. By limiting the maximum battery charge level to 80 percent rather than 100 percent, this setting could maximize battery health. Apple is also giving users more information about battery health.
According to Allison Johnson of The Verge, all iPhone 15 models running iOS
17 have a new option in the Battery Health & Charging menu that, when
activated, prevents the device from ever charging past 80 percent. There are
reportedly three choices on this menu: Optimized Battery Charging, an 80
percent cap, and none. Navigate to Settings > Battery > Battery Health
& Charging to find it.
The new 80 percent limit setting will stop charging your iPhone 15 models
when they are 80 percent full. The new function was first seen in the iOS 17
beta code.
Additionally, Apple is now enabling users to view the battery cycle count of their own devices. A tipster noted that users of the iPhone 15 can now access information on their battery, including the date it was made, the time it was used for the first time, and the number of cycles it has undergone.
It is advised to charge batteries up to 80% of their capacity to prevent overheating and maintain battery life, as the final 20% is thought to consume more energy and generate more heat. Over time, it is anticipated that this procedure will maintain battery health. It is quite like the Optimized charge feature that Apple already provides on older iPhone models, which restricts overnight battery charge.
